Our Mission, Vision and Values guide the way we do business.Are you ready for your next career challenge?The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking an Aviation Analyst to perform a variety of analytical duties in connection with the preparation of high-profile business intelligence documents for FAA senior leaders, Lines of Businesses, or other external groups. The position will be supporting the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Central Service Center (CSC) Operations Support Group (OSG) Flight Procedures Team (FPT) by providing technical expertise in planning and integration of National Airspace Modernization. This position is based in Fort Worth, Texas and is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the NISC mission.The ideal candidate should be able to communicate to a variety of audiences including FAA Headquarters, FAA field offices, Air Traffic Operations, Technical Operations, System Operations and users of the National Airspace System. Experience dealing with each of these organizations is necessary and the candidate must be knowledgeable of FAA orders to develop and provides assessments and technical recommendations. The ability to work in a team environment is critical as this will contribute to the overall success of the deliverable.Primary Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Support the Federal Aviation Administration’s Central Service Area Environmental Team through review and analysis of flight tracks and airspace recommendations and changes.
  • Assist in review of FAA facility directives and Letters of Agreement ensuring procedures comply with handbook requirements.
  • Review and provide aviation expertise to environmental studies that are related to the National Airspace System.
  • Research Headquarters’ requests for clarifications and interpretations in accordance with current environmental laws, requirements, and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 8 to 12 years or prior relevant experience or Master’s Degree with 6 to 10 years of experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in the degree requirement.
  • 5+ years of Aviation experience
  • PDARS experience
  • Must be able to conduct research, evaluations, studies, and develop recommendation to the FAA customer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to lead program team meetings and participate in national and regional telcons.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of systems that analyze air traffic flight tracks, airspace and geographies, TARGETS, IOAA tool, and similar).
  • Experience dealing with multiple lines of business in the FAA.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
