Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Screen Acting Techer to join the Pauline Quirke Academy in Corby providing high-quality learning experiences for our students aged 6-18. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to education and fostering a positive learning environment.

Job Description

You will be developing their learning from the ground up in partnership with the Academy Principal.

Teaching our students the mechanics of Acting for Screen through practical application.

In classes you will be supported by a Film & Television Assistant who will also know the equipment and will work with you whilst teaching.

Start Date – November 23

All staff must hold or undergo regular Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service checks.

Saturdays 9.30am – 1pm (arrival times as per local agreement and enough time for preparation of classes and receiving students)

FEE £80 -85 per Saturday morning session (3.5 hours)

NB. Planned expansion for the Academy pencilled for January 2025 which will mean extended hours from 9.30am – 5pm (£160 -£180 per Saturday)

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge and skills in the set up, and operation of media production equipment.
  • A secure knowledge of post-production software. For example, Adobe Suite, DaVinci or software you are familiar with.
  • Knowledge of the current screen industry, sectors, job roles and interrelations.
  • The ability to inspire high achievement in students from all backgrounds.
  • The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to develop and manage projects.
  • Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to guide students’ responsibly with their aspirations within the industry
  • Presence, enthusiasm, good sense of humour and approachability.
  • An excellent record of punctuality.
