Job Description

To provide support with script development on a verbatim play on male mental health, depression and suicide. After her cousin took his own life in 2021, Sarah Winn made a successful DYCP application to the Arts Council and with support from The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, Sarah created a 60 minute verbatim play. The play balances survival and loss, as stories are woven together, to bring hope to those who might be struggling.

We have now received the next stage of funding from the Arts Council and are looking to expand all elements of the production and further develop the script.

We are looking for a Dramaturg who ideally is experienced in working with verbatim scripts, to bring fresh perspective to the piece. Someone with an interest in male mental health and the ability to work flexibly with someone with dyslexia.

Payment will be £126 per 8 hour day for 3 days (24 working hours in total)

Total payment of £378. Payment made on the end of engagement and receipt of invoice.

Days can be split in to half days, exact dates can be negotiated, between the overall period of 23rd September and 11th October 2024.

Job Requirements

– To be able to work with neurodivergence, particularly dyslexia.

– To work with creator/director on script development

– To watch previous recording of No one Here is Me

– To read current script

– To give notes on script and theatrical staging. Provide a written break down of notes and minutes. Must be able to provide accurate reasoning for any proposed changes/ideas.

– To discuss thoroughly all points with the director
