The Healthcare Surveyor – Operational/Long Term Care Healthcare Surveyor will:

  • Perform surveys and investigations of Nursing Homes and Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IIDs) facilities to determine their level of compliance with State and Federal regulations..

How does it get done?

The Healthcare Surveyor – Operational/Long Term Care Healthcare Surveyor is responsible for:

  • Surveying Long – Term Care Healthcare Facilities
  • Interviewing residents/clients and staff of healthcare facilities
  • Evaluating the facility environment to ensure it meets safety and infection control standards
  • Reviewing records
  • Ensuring resident/client rights
  • Ensuring quality of care and quality of life meet regulation standards

  • Long Term Care healthcare providers and New Mexico residents receiving healthcare services.

Minimum Qualification

Associate’s Degree in from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years of experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting and in long term care facilities and ICF/IID with phone and extensive computer usage. Some sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending reaching and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds may be required. Extensive in-state with frequent overnight stays averaging one week at a time, is required. Occasional out-of state travel is required. Some out-of pocket expense with reimbursement is required.
