Summary:

- Recognizing abnormalities in test results (lab, radiology, EKG) and taking appropriate treatment actions, consulting with physicians when necessary.
- Providing appropriate patient instructions and counseling.
- Initiating and facilitating referral or transfer of patients to other medical facilities for further medical care, under the consultation of physicians.
- Ensuring proper documentation in the medical record, including history, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment records, condition on discharge, patient instructions, and follow-up.
- Managing medical, surgical, and trauma issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

- Performing phlebotomies and IV access as needed.
- Demonstrating proficiency in intubation techniques.

- Performing detailed and accurate history and physical examinations of patients.
- Ordering appropriate diagnostic tests based on patients’ history, examination, signs, and symptoms.
- Recognizing abnormalities in test results (lab, radiology, EKG) and taking appropriate treatment actions, consulting with physicians when necessary.
- Providing appropriate patient instructions and counseling.
- Initiating and facilitating referral or transfer of patients to other medical facilities for further medical care, under the consultation of physicians.
- Ensuring proper documentation in the medical record, including history, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment records, condition on discharge, patient instructions, and follow-up.
- Managing medical, surgical, and trauma issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Acting rapidly and effectively in emergency situations, managing both patients and other employees.
- Performing phlebotomies and IV access as needed.
- Demonstrating proficiency in intubation techniques.
- Participating in the Quality Improvement program as requested by the Medical Director.
By performing these tasks diligently and effectively, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services and patient care within Health Alliance Hudson Valley.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current licensure in the State of New York.

- BLS, ACLS and ATLS
- PALS preferred
