Join the ProteinPaint Team, led by Dr. Xin Zhou, to develop a cutting-edge data portal platform for biomedical data sharing and exploration.
Position Responsibilities:
ProteinPaint (https://proteinpaint.stjude.org/, https://github.com/stjude/proteinpaint) began as a cancer mutation visualization tool, and is now an umbrella platform behind published data portals including GenomePaint, Neuro-Oncology portal, and Survivorship Portal. Other high-profile initiatives include NCI Genomic Data Commons, American Society for Hematology Genomic Platform, and St. Jude Global Pediatric Medicine data dashboards. We’re expanding to single cell omics, metabolomics, imaging and radiology, and population science, by offering highly interoperable tools to support unprecedented multi-modal data integration.
The applicant should be driven by a strong interest in a career of data-sharing platform development for biomedical research. Applicants with proven track record in biomedical web portal development, and masteries for related technologies including Github, JavaScript, Node.js, R, Rust, python, SQL, and Linux are strongly preferred. While on the team, the new hire will be exposed to the many ongoing projects and participate in discussions with internal and external collaborators. After gaining efficiency, the new hire can lead projects and author manuscripts.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
PhD in biomedical sciences.
Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Skills in biomedical web portal development, Github, JavaScript, Node.js, R, Rust, python, SQL, Linux. Knowledge in bioinformatics, statistics, single cell omics, cancer biology, immunology, population genetics.
