Short-Term Lecturer/Assistant Professor or Teaching Specialist, Division of the Science and Mathematics

Location: Morris 

Full/Part-Time: 10-100% appointment – 9 mo and < 50% time, or <9 mo and any % time

The Division of the Science and Mathematics may need Lecturers/Assistant Professors or Teaching Specialists to teach on a short-term and/or temporary basis during the 2024-25 academic year (August 12, 2024 to May 11, 2025) in one or more of the following areas: 

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Environmental Science
  • Geology
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Statistics

About the Job

  • The primary responsibility will be teaching undergraduate courses. 
  • Some service and research activity may be expected.

Pay: 

$33,190 – $54,880 depending on qualifications and experience 

Qualifications

Required/Preferred Qualifications

  • Essential Academic Preparation = Ph.D. or terminal degree for Lecturers, MA/MS or BA/BS for Teaching Specialists. 
  • Candidates must have academic preparation appropriate to the specialized teaching field, and must present evidence of successful teaching. 
  • Though clear emphasis is on successful teaching, consideration will be given to scholarly attainment of other professional recognition or distinction in the teaching field.
