Job Summary

Job Description

You will be part of a small team of people and to assist the Technical and Facilities Manager, and the Technical Supervisor in the delivery of all technical requirements across its three venues. As one of the Theatre Technicians, you will work with the rest of the team as they support our diverse range of incoming shows, run cinema screenings, and contribute to the day-to-day running of the department and its assets.

Key Requirements

  • To work within a team of three full time technicians, and to support one apprentice technician and a pool of casual technicians.
  • On occasion, being deployed to facilitate events at the Town Hall and Leamington Art Gallery and Museum, to support a wide variety of events and openings throughout the year.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, providing technical expertise on shows and events.
  • At least 1-year practical experience of the rigging, operations and programming of theatrical lighting equipment and programming of live performance sound equipment (including digital) or qualification in a theatre discipline.

Job Requirements

BTEC or equivalent in a technical theatre discipline

Experience of technical work in a live performance venue

Practical experience of the rigging, operation and programming of theatrical lighting equipment

Practical experience of the rigging, operation and programming of live performance sound equipment (including digital)

Experience of Health & Safety legislation and guidance, specific to the entertainments industry

Experience of operating flying systems within a theatre setting

Experience of digital media, including projection
