JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education (https://ed.psu.edu/academics/departments/department-educational-psychology-counseling-and-special- education) within the College of Education, invites applications for a non-tenure-line Assistant Teaching Professor position with primary responsibilities in teaching in the Educational Psychology program within the areas of Measurement, Statistics, and/or Learning.

This position is a 36-week, non-tenure track faculty appointment in the Educational Psychology program funded for one year with excellent possibility of reappointment and with the possibility of supplemental summer appointments in research and/or teaching. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching residential and online undergraduate and graduate courses in measurement, statistics, and/or learning. Additional responsibilities may include advising master’s and doctoral students and providing service to the Department, College, University, and professional organizations or other external agencies.

Required Qualifications

In addition to an earned doctorate in Educational Psychology, Quantitative Methods, or a closely related field prior to the appointment start date (Fall 2024), candidates are required to establish evidence of:

  • effective teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate students in the area of their earned doctorate;
  • commitment to mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students;
  • willingness to develop courses and teach in online environments;
  • commitment to working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds;
  • commitment to collegiality and collaboration; and
  • commitment to diversity and equity-related initiatives.
