Building Culture is growing, and we’re looking for freelance support to expand our capacity and expertise across our current projects.
About Building Culture
Building Culture CIC is the sibling organisation to DIY arts collective https://emptyshop.org/ – Empty Shop CIC. We combine Empty Shop’s hands-on, delivery-led approach with the placemaking and regeneration expertise we’ve developed over the past 15 years to share, inform, empower, and catalyse change.
Rooted in social responsibility, our unique blend of grassroots heritage and sector-level experience allows us to offer a distinctive way of working. We seamlessly move between advisory, producing, and delivery roles, helping to inform the projects we believe in, as well as initiating our own work.
As we continue developing ambitious and impactful initiatives, we are seeking innovative and creative ‘doers’ – placemakers, dot connectors, bid writers, producers, project managers, and more.

Right now, we’re seeking support across our current projects. We welcome interest from people who align with our DIY roots and methodology and feel they can contribute to any, or all, of these projects. Whether your experience leans toward one specific project or your approach can apply across multiple areas, we’d love to hear from you.
