About the Employer The District The Lompoc Unified School District offers an outstanding educational program for its approximately 9,800 students. Lompoc is the support city for Vandenberg Space Force Base, the aerospace center of the West Coast. The instructor will maintain an effective learning environment, prepare lessons and deliver instruction for English language development, academics, and civic engagement to classes of adult students who are adding English as a second language. Using research-based methodologies and strategies, the instructor will prepare adults to achieve course objectives of building skills for the following: job readiness and career advancement, assisting school-age children with learning, elevating civic participation/abilities, and pursuing further academic attainment. As part of the Professional Learning Community and its mission to elevate student outcomes, the instructor will participate in review of student data, learning standards, and creation of common assessments.
