BACKGROUND
Under the guidance of the Manager of the Thailand Programme and in coordination with other technical staff at country and regional levels, the PO will lead implementation of all PCA projects including species conservation and forestry. These projects include:
• 100 Million Trees, funded by Conservation International, which will support community-led forest landscape restoration in the Kaeng Krachan WHS.
• Accelerating Tiger Recovery, funded by GEF, which will support community-based habitat and prey restoration in the Western Forest Complex and Dong Phyayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex. IUCN serves as the GEF agency for this project.
• Mapping Marine Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs), funded by GIZ, which will map potential OECMs in the coastal and marine realms.
JOB DESCRIPTION
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage day-to-day delivery of PCA projects, including financial management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and coordination with project partners.
• Lead development and updating of project annual workplans.
• Organize technical discussions and training sessions on wildlife conservation and protected areas management including the National Park Act BE.2562, Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act BE.2562, National Forest Reserved Act BE.2507 including sub-ordinance and regulations.
• Organize technical discussions among stakeholders on forest landscape restoration and wildlife conservation.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for project activities.
• Prepare regular web stories on project results and ensure project visibility among government and NGO stakeholders. • Maintain regular contacts with IUCN Thailand members and Commission members with a view to building relationships and exploring new areas of cooperation.
