Job Summary:Charles Major Manor is a Retirement Housing Foundation community designed especially for seniors and persons with disabilities. We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in housekeeping and janitorial services, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently.Key Responsibilities:General Housekeeping: Perform daily cleaning duties in common areas, including:

+ Restrooms
+ Community Room and Kitchen
+ Laundry Rooms
+ Trash Rooms
+ Hallways, Stairwells, and Elevator Tracks
- In-Depth Cleaning: Conduct thorough cleaning during resident transfers and move-ins/outs.
- Collaboration: Assist the maintenance staff as needed with repairs and upkeep.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and update inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Problem Reporting: Immediately report any issues, deficiencies, or breakage to the Manager.
- Preventive Maintenance: Follow the preventive housekeeping/maintenance schedule and ensure tasks are up to date.
- Assistance with Inspections: Assist with apartment inspections and annual upkeep tasks.
- Physical Tasks:
+ Perform physical activities, including bending, stooping, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
+ Climb ladders and stairs as required.
- Fixture Cleaning: Clean overhead light fixtures according to the established schedule.
- Trash Disposal: Assist in the disposal of trash and recycling.
- Resident Interaction: Communicate and interact positively with seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- Lighting Inspections: Inspect interior, exterior, and emergency exit hallway lighting fixtures regularly.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior work experience in housekeeping or janitorial services is required.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and adhere to safety protocols.
- Communication Skills: Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents and staff.
Compensation:Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.The role is considered non-exempt so will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law. The anticipated base pay range for the position in Seattle, Washington is $15.18 per hour.Benefits:
