How can you make a difference ? 

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Communications, the Senior Multimedia Creation Officer will be responsible for:

Creation of innovative and impactful multimedia content

  • Design, produce and edit high-quality videos highlighting the stories of UNICEF project beneficiaries (children, communities, partners), using engaging visual techniques (motion design, animation, etc.).
  • Develop creative graphic visuals for UNICEF campaigns, events and publications, while respecting the organization’s graphic charter.
  • Propose original concepts for short formats, adapted to digital platforms (social networks, website, newsletters).
  • Oversee the video production process, including proposing stories and reports, writing scripts, filming on location, post-production (editing, sound design), and integrating special effects if necessary.

Creative leadership and project management

  • Lead and supervise a team of creators (interns or consultants) to ensure the consistency and quality of multimedia productions.
  • Establish and manage a creative editorial calendar in collaboration with the program sections, to align communication priorities with strategic visibility objectives.
  • Manage integrated visual campaigns, ensuring the cohesion of messages across different distribution channels (social networks, web, television, etc.).
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions with local and global teams to develop creative ideas that reflect UNICEF priorities and adapt them to the local context.

Innovation and visual quality

  • Explore new approaches and trends in visual storytelling and graphic design to improve the quality and impact of the content produced.
  • Ensure the integration of new and emerging technologies (virtual reality, augmented reality, 360° video) into UNICEF multimedia productions.
  • Work with specialist consultants (graphic designers, directors, motion designers) to bring high-level technical skills to projects.
  • Ensure the technical excellence of the videos and graphics produced, guaranteeing the best image and sound quality for maximum visual impact.

Capacity building and collaboration

  • Train UNICEF internal staff and local partners on the use of video creation and graphics tools (cameras, editing software, etc.).
  • Develop practical guidelines and tools to ensure consistency in the production and use of visual content by all sections.
  • Encourage a collaborative approach within the team to maximize synergy between different communication initiatives.
  • Monitoring and management of multimedia resources
  • Manage the UNICEF Benin multimedia library by ensuring the classification, archiving and accessibility of video and visual content for future campaigns.
  • Ensure that all content is accompanied by the necessary metadata (context, names, locations, usage rights) and that it is correctly integrated into global UNICEF databases (Weshare, etc.).
  • Supervise content performance monitoring (audience analysis, partner feedback, campaign impact) and adjust the creation strategy based on the results.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of a university degree preferably in graphic design, video production, multimedia communications or a related field.
  • Work Experience:  Minimum 3 years of experience in video production, graphics and art direction, preferably in demanding creative environments
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut) and graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Expertise in end-to-end multimedia production project management (conceptualization, filming, editing, broadcasting).
  • Experience coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver complex creative projects.
  • Knowledge of digital trends, with an ability to adapt content to different platforms and target audiences.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills 
  • Experience working with the United Nations or an international organization

  • Have a good knowledge of the concepts and approaches of planning based on human rights and gender-sensitive results.
  • Skills (optional) :  Ability to propose innovative creative concepts while respecting deadlines and budgetary constraints
  • Language Requirements: Good command of French. Knowledge of the local language is an asset
