About this Opportunity:

The Global Quality & Reliability Intern position is ideal for a person interested in developing operation systems in a worldwide manufacturing organization. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to several key enabling functions in Global Quality organization. We are looking for a team player who possesses exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), is able to learn quickly, and is self-motivated.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Programing skills in VBA or Python for data processing automation
• Relational database knowledge and application (ex. MS SQL)
• Statistical knowledge for data processing and decision making
• Knowledge of Smartsheet and PowerBI
• Understanding of Google Applications
• Critical thinking on how to leverage existing resources and technology to bring value to the business
• Strong analytical skills to present data in an innovative way to business leaders
• Time and project management, ability to prioritize and re-assess schedules and tasks quickly and effectively

Activities: 

• Collect and organize product quality and reliability data from manufacturing and engineering teams, construct database.
• Analyze data and derive conclusions via statistical analysis.
• Create programs in VBA or Python to automate data analysis and presentation.
• Create operation reports for Celestica’s operations and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Global Quality operations worldwide to achieve all objectives.
• Participate in Global Quality programs deployment and support.
• Participate in teleconferences, meetings with global counterparts.
• Participate in volunteering activities within Celestica volunteer programs.
• Create and update website content and produce quality communications for the sites.

Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data

Experience: No formal experience required

Education: Currently enrolled in a University internship program and have completed their 3rd year of studies. The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled in an Engineering or Mathematical & Statistics major.
