Description
Salary Information: Minimum for Academic Year 2024-2025, $1,911 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.
Other Conditions:
- For lecturer applicant pool, part-time, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.
- Must be available to teach courses online and in person, either during the day, evening, or weekend.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in Middle Level Education, 6-8: English; and/or Secondary Education, 6-12: English.
- Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
- Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Work under supervision of division chair to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors within and across the discipline area.
- As needed, work with multimedia presentations, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in English, English Education, or Curriculum & Instruction.
- Minimum 3 years Middle Level (grades 6-8) and/or Secondary (grades 6-12) English classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness, as verified by professional references
Desirable Qualifications
- College teaching experience in an accredited teacher preparation program.
