Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiovascular Surgery Thoracic Transplantation section is seeking a trained surgeon. They will be working in an academic hospital, Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in the Indiana University Health network, which is among the top 10 largest transplant programs nationally. The Indiana University Health Physicians network is one of the premier tertiary centers in the state of Indiana.
The appropriate candidates will be responsible for providing patient care, teaching residents and students in their specialty of CV thoracic transplantation surgery and participating in clinical research. They will support, and contribute to, a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent processes in place for successful patient outcomes. This is a full-time position. Salary and academic / clinical rank will commensurate with experience.

Basic Qualifications
- Qualified candidates must have M.D., or equivalent education. Doctorate or Terminal Degree required.
- Completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship
- American BC/BE in Surgery
- Must be able to provide clinical education centering around complex heart and lung transplant, VAD, and ECMO procedures
- Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills.
