Responsible for managing the operation of the SOLUS Surgery Centers. A Brief Overview

Responsible for managing the operation of the SOLUS Surgery Centers. Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and administration of patient care services in order to achieve fiscal year business plans. Manages financial, capital and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards, and assists with strategic planning as necessary Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do

  • Responsible for planning, implementing, directing, coordinating and controlling all activities, operations and programs in all SOLUS operated Surgery Centers.
  • Selects, directs and evaluates a competent, productive and quality conscious work force. Promotes an environment that encourages and provides appropriate opportunity for the staff’s professional development and achievement of annual performance objectives and clinical competencies.
  • Directs and coordinates clinical policy and operating policies and procedures for all SOLUS Surgery Centers.
  • Prepares annual expense budgets, capital budgets, and human resources utilization plans for SOLUS Surgery Centers.
  • Promotes the flow of information by establishing, utilizing and maintaining effective communication systems within and outside all assigned departments.
  • Accepts authority and responsibility for staff/physician collaboration to enhance patient care.
  • Directs and oversees quality improvement and evaluation activities for Surgery Centers and implements measures to ensure that AAAHC and other quality standards are met.
  • Assists the President of Affiliated with development and implementation of long and short-range strategic plans for the Surgery Centers; develops and implements business plans for new centers.
  • Develops and implements a plan for integration of functions and activities between clinical departments to better meet the requirements of MHMH customers.
  • Responsible for recruiting surgeons to practice at the centers.

Education/Formal Training Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration/Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree Healthcare Administration
  • Master’s Degree

Work Experience Requirements

  • 5-7 years Management
  • Operating Room or Surgery Center management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of nursing and surgery center administration principles.
  • Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as business plans.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of associates, management, physicians, and patients and their families.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
  • Skill in negotiating with and between individuals and groups of people, including associates, management and physicians.
  • Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own and others’ work flow.

Supervision Provided by this Position

  • This position is responsible for supervising directly or indirectly the Associates in SOLUS Surgery Centers.

Physical Demands

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work – exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
  • Position requires frequent travel outside of primary work site.
