The British Embassy Santiago is recruiting an intern to join the Embassy’s Corporate Services team. The intern would support the Estates team of the Embassy. The role will involve secondary research, update existing documentation and Drawing Blueprints in digital format via Auto Cad. The work will be in both Spanish and English. The internship will take place between January 2025 and March 2025.
- Contribute to the restructuring of information in digital platform, aiming to organise documents in a user-friendly and easily accessible way.
- Contribute to the updating of construction records, including Blueprints.
- Visit the Embassy’s properties to take measurements and update the blueprints.
- Assist in the updating of current databases and actively contribute to the strengthening of relationship with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Researching for new suppliers, products or technical assistance of existing products.
- Support the Corporate Services team as required with other projects that might arise.

- The intern must be enrolled in a university/college programme that will allow them to participate in an internship “práctica professional” for 3 months, in the areas of Architecture, construction, engineering or Design drafting.
- Previous experience and/or knowledge in any of the following areas: Technical drawing, Architecture and construction.
- Knowledge of computer-aided design software (AutoCAD) or similar.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks and priorities.
- Problem-solving, attention to detail and efficient administrative skills.

The British Embassy has an active L&D Committee and offers a wide range of in-house training and funding for external training on policy and programme work.
Working patterns:
The intern will (ideally) work full time for 3 months, subject to their availability and academic commitments. The successful candidate will have job flexibility to meet his/her academic commitments.
Net working hours are 36 per week, Mon-Thu 09:00–17:30 (with a half-hour lunch break) and Fri 09:00-13.00.

Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of 6 months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
