The appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence on August 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval.

Candidates are required to have a PhD with expertise in as many of the following related areas as possible: Christianity, Critical Theory, Cultural Studies, and Philosophy of Religion. The Candidate should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and have an appreciation for the Liberal Arts context. They should be able to address the intersection between religion and the contemporary world and should be competent to teach thematically related courses in the areas of Christianity and Western philosophy of religion. Five courses in total will be taught over the calendar year including:

RELG1661: Religion and Popular Culture
RELG2831: Faith and Doubt
RELG3601: Christianity
RELG3901: Approaching the Ultimate

One additional course will be scheduled, depending on the successful candidate’s area of expertise.

The successful candidate shall also contribute to the general research culture and
activities of the Department.
