We are looking for a professional with experience in analysis of public policy, society and economy issues in Colombia, manipulation and analysis of databases, and in research projects to support the strategic, analytical and knowledge work of the representation.
You will work in the economic team, which is part of the Bank’s Representation in Colombia (CAN/CCO). This team is responsible for leadership in the Bank’s strategy, programming and dialogue with the country. At the same time, the Representation is considered the repository of country-specific knowledge and, as such, must carry out studies, macroeconomic reports (IAMC, briefings, Country Strategy and economic studies) and support the Bank’s technical dialogue with the country.
This is what you will do:
- Provide analytical and strategic support in the country’s macroeconomic monitoring.
- Provide technical assistance in the design, development, and monitoring of research projects and studies relevant to Colombia and the Andean Region.
- Update the country’s statistical information on a regular basis and contribute to the development of the IAMC.
- Prepare the daily bulletin of economic, social and political news.
- Prepare briefings and presentations on economic topics and review documents on relevant topics. Additionally, support in the preparation of analyses and presentations on the economic, social and political situation of the country.
- Support the necessary coordination with the Bank’s external and internal counterparts.
- Organize with national counterparts the collection of necessary statistical information.
- Support the coordination and management of the Bank’s civil society activities.
This is what you need:
Education:
- Master’s degree in economics or related fields.
Experience:
- 5 years of relevant professional experience preferably as a junior researcher and with experience in econometric and programming packages (R, STATA, MATLAB, JMULTI). The position requires oral and written ability to analyze information and articulate ideas.
Languages:
- Spanish and English.
