About the Employer Hemet Unified School District is one of the largest geographic areas of any district in California. Job Summary Job Summary Job Summary: Hemet USD is committed to building continuous improvement capability throughout the district in order to effectively and reliably meet the needs of all students it serves. Building improvement capability at this scale requires the development of a learning environment that allows for (1) close collaboration between district and site-based staff who are closest to the work of educating students (2) ongoing learning and application of improvement methodologies on problems that occur in the day-to-day work at the district and sites (3) iterative design and testing cycles of changes to improve district-wide outcomes. Under the direction of an administrator from Educational Service Division, the Teaching and Learning Specialist will support the District’s initiatives in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The Specialist will function as an instructional specialist and content expert within the District. The Specialist will provide leadership and guidance in content-specific scope and sequence work, instructional delivery utilizing curriculum and best practices, and assessment of grade-level standards. The specialist will support the development and delivery of content-related professional development. The specialist will use improvement tools and strategies to understand and respond to the needs of the system in order to improve student outcomes.
