Job Description
Embark on an exciting academic adventure as part of our dynamic faculty team! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, includes:
- Becoming a student’s personal academic superhero through one-on-one coaching sessions. Help them conquer academic challenges and unlock their full potential!
- Transform into the Sherlock Holmes of critical thinking by designing and facilitating mind-bending sessions that will make students’ brains do backflips (in a good way).
- Channel your inner Socrates and master the art of inquiry-based learning. Prepare to blow minds with your questioning prowess!
- Lead small group interventions that turn academic literacy into a thrilling rollercoaster ride of knowledge acquisition.
- Crafting ingenious strategies to help students ace those tricky multiple-choice exams.
- Design formative assessments so engaging, students will forget they’re being assessed!
- Join forces with fellow academic Avengers to develop teaching materials that will make textbooks jealous.
- Team up with student affairs and counseling departments to create a student support network worthy of its own comic book series.
- Guide budding researchers through the wild world of medical research, helping them leave their mark on the scientific community.
- Dive into the exciting realm of medical education research, where your findings could revolutionize the way we teach future doctors.

Qualifications
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Terminal degree required: MD, DO, EdD, PhD, or Masters in Education with substantial experience in medical student academic support
- Experience working with adult learners in STEM; medical education experience preferred
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in both large and small group formats
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a diverse academic environment
- Understanding of educational theory, learning psychology, and principles of medical education
- Proficiency in computer software programs (MS Office) and educational technology, including e-learning management systems and online examinations
- Experience in mentoring, academic coaching, or student affairs preferred
- Knowledge of USMLE Step 1 exam preparation and experience with online learning development desirable
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in medical education
- Understanding of the educational needs of students with disabilities
Candidates should possess strong critical thinking and collaborative skills, with the ability to contribute to a dynamic team environment. Experience with diverse student populations, including English as a Second Language learners, is advantageous.
