The Yale Center for Molecular and Systems Metabolism (YMSM) at Yale University School of
Medicine, seeks candidates for Assistant or Associate Professor on Term in the Tenure Track.
Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent
qualifications in research, education, and the ability to conduct independent research.
The Yale Center for Molecular and Systems Metabolism (YMSM) focuses on a range of topics in
metabolic research. We seek candidates whose research interests align with areas such as the
regulation of metabolism in pathophysiological states, cellular and organismal metabolism,
exercise physiology, nutrigenomics, digestive system/gut metabolism, the gut microbiome and
host metabolism interplay, and integrated multi-omics using computational approaches. While
expertise in these areas is highly desirable it is not a requirement.
Faculty recruited to YMSM will be appointed to a basic science department within Yale University
School of Medicine or the Faculty of Arts of Science. YMSM represents an exciting and dynamic
Center situated in the Yale School of Medicine. Faculty recruited to YMSM will occupy newly
renovated space and will be participants of a highly collaborative group of faculty working in a
broad range of areas related to metabolism. YMSM faculty will have access to state-of-the-art
technologies, metabolic core facilities and will be part of a long-standing history of excellence at
Yale University School of Medicine in the area of metabolism. YMSM faculty will have the
opportunity to interact with faculty representing other research centers at Yale University such as
the Cancer Center, Vascular Biology & Therapeutics program Center, Stem Cell Center, Program
in Mitochondrial Biology & Intermediary Metabolism, Obesity Research Center, and the Diabetes
and Endocrinology Research Center.
In addition to establishing and developing a vigorous and independently funded research program
in metabolism, recruited YMSM faculty will be expected to participate in the teaching and
mentoring of trainess from diverse backgrounds activities and thus contributing to the graduate
and medical school educational missions. Recruited YMSM faculty will be fully supported by a
strong and engaging mentoring and career development environment.
Evaluation of Applications will begin March 1st 2025.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in a relevant field. An M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
degree (or foreign equivalents) are also acceptable.
