Summary
The Clinic Manager under the direction of the Total Health Clinic Medical Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the clinic and ensuring the clinic delivers excellent patient care. The Clinic Manager is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations of the clinic, personnel management (clinical and clerical), financial management, professional fee billing activities, cash management, quality improvement activities, training and input on strategic planning. The role directs and manages patient flow during clinics, assists and backs up all administrative staff members. This individual is responsible for providing high level decision making to manage daily functions and work toward continuous improvement in a team environment.
This clinic location includes the following services: Family Planning; Gender-Affirming Care; Hepatitis C Care; HIV Care; PrEP access, Sexually Transmitted Infections/ Diseases (STI/ STD) Care; and Adolescent and Young Adult Health Care. The Manager of the Total Health Clinic will ensure the clinic team provides Medical Case Management with continuum of care to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), help encourage patients to adhere to treatment plans and ensure the clinic provides a safety net for the most vulnerable patients. The Manager is responsible for compliance and adherence to all funding source regulatory policies. The Manager will understand and ensure the clinic’s compliance with Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) grant requirements (for Ryan White or similar grant funding) and will understand and ensure the clinic complies with all 340B program requirement. The Manager will work closely with the Alexandria Ryan White clinic on compliance and regulatory oversight as well as with the SOM Director of 340B Compliance. Additionally, the role will work closely with Tulane University Medical Group (TUMG) and the Department of Medicine to ensure the clinic follows all Tulane School of Medicine policies and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent supervisory skills.
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities including resolving complex problems requiring innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills – ability to enhance operations, productivity, and efficiency of clinic operations.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks with multiple groups independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to present oneself and one’s ideas with clarity, confidence and poise.
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
- Knowledge and experience using Epic or other electronic health records.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
- Working knowledge of available community resources, access to community resources and available crisis management interventions.
- Knowledge of 340B funding and compliance issues specific to the Federal HRSA/Ryan White Funding Program.
- Experience working with community-based organizations, voluntary counseling and testing for HIV.
- Experience managing budgets and building financial reports.
Required Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and seven (7) years’ clinical operations and financial management experience in a multi-specialty or multi-site health care setting.
OR
- High School Diploma/Equivalent and ten (10) years’ clinical operations and financial management experience in a multi-specialty or multi-site health care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than five (5) years clinic operations and financial management experience in a multi-specialty or multi-site health care setting.
- Experience managing services as required by Ryan White funded programs.
- Experience with 340B prescription compliance requirements.

This position is classified as “exempt, salaried” and is assigned to pay grade 27.
