JOB PURPOSE
Support nutrition unit to contribute to meeting the nutritional needs of beneficiaries within Afghanistan. This will be achieved through effective and timely facilitation of the management of Field Level Agreements (FLAs) and amendments as may be necessary; well-organized, complete and accurate reports, records and/or data; and effective nutrition unit business process performance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Under the guidance of Head of Programme at field office level, the programme associate nutrition will assist in coordination with WFP Areas and Area-Offices: a) call for proposal and submission timelines, b) review of detailed budget lines with relevant A/SOs, c) coordinate and follow-up with COPAC colleagues for timely inclusion of TSFP projects in COPAC agenda, d) present project budget lines in COPAC meeting as required and timely communicate COPAC feedback to relevant A/SOs and vice-versa, e) timely prepare and print FLA/amendments including budget and all other required documents for CD’s signature f) Ensure the timely signing of all FLAs/and amendments, e) coordinate internally within WFP-CO, A/SOs and CPs to ensure the FLA/amendments are timely received by relevant CPs and A/SOs;
- Manage and maintain paper and or electronic records of the FLAs and Amendments, including regularly updating the tracking sheet to be shared with PND, within the area of responsibility in accordance with established procedures, to ensure swift and easy data access as required.
- Maintain records on programme activities, from formulation stage through completion, by extracting relevant information from reports, project committees, budget records and other documentation; make information available for country briefs, and other related purposes; keep all program files up to date and well organized, in the common drive, and ensure easy access by the nutrition unit colleagues.
- Collate information for inclusion in reports, documents and correspondences, to support the effective work of the nutrition unit.
- Regularly communicate with nutrition cluster/PND information management officers and WFP field offices to ensure timely and complete entry of monthly TSFP data into National Nutrition Database.
- Collect and perform basic analysis of data to contribute to quality business information management
- Maintain a well-coordinated working relationship with key relevant unit staff within the CO and AOs/SOs.
- Provide support for timely procurement of nutrition related goods and services as per plan.
- Contribute to improvement of business procedures and processes.
- Logistical and administrative arrangement of nutrition workshops, review meetings and other nutrition related events and meetings in coordination with business support assistant of program unit
- Undertake all the administrative work for the nutrition unit in close collaboration with the Programme Business Support Assistant
- Regular review of specialized nutritious food stock information and provide required feedback to nutrition unit colleagues and field office
- Perform other related duties as and when required by Nutrition Unit
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. Diploma or higher qualification in Public Health, Nutrition, Food Science/Technology, Medicine, Business Management or other relevant fields.
Experience: At least 6 years’ experience working in implementing nutrition, food security or health programmes. or in the field Experience conducting nutritional assessments, nutrition data analysis and report writing would be an added advantage. Experience working in both emergencies and development contexts.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
• Has contributed to implementation of programs
• Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and local languages (Pashto/Dari)
