Purpose of consultancy: | The Longitudinal Cohort Study is a 15-year nationwide study on Filipino adolescents that aims to put a human face to the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), and inform policy making and programming on health, education, and other key areas of human capital development for today’s and tomorrow’s young people. In essence, it is a study of the trials, tribulations and triumphs of the Filipino 10-year olds from 2015 when the study started up to 2030.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Demographic Intelligence Analysis, and Planning (DIAP) Programme Analyst and working closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Team, the Programme Coordinator for the 15-year Longitudinal Cohort Study will provide technical and administrative support on internal systems to both the UNFPA Philippine Country Office and the Implementing Partner, University of San Carlos-Office of Population Studies (USC-OPS). The Programme Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation and monitoring of regular activities such as data collection i.e. Wave 8 Quantitative Data Collection which will start this first quarter of the year. Apart from the regular activities related to the implementation and monitoring of data collection, the Programme Coordinator will also focus on facilitating activities related to the production, dissemination and use of the data repository from the Cohort Study. A range of activities will be conducted this year for the dissemination component of the study, including regional dissemination fora for each domain of the study, and a national dissemination forum designed to engage the academe, government and other development partners, policy makers, non-government organizations to inform country policies, programmes, and interventions. In line with these, UNFPA seeks to engage the Programme Coordinator to successfully carry out the tasks assigned in the approved terms of reference for the post. |

Monitoring and progress control, including reporting requirements, periodicity format and deadline: | Monthly accomplishment report described above will be prepared by the Programme Coordinator and approved by the Demographic Intelligence Analysis and Planning (DIAP) Analyst. |
Supervisory arrangements: | The Programme Coordinator will be under the overall supervision of the Country representative and direct supervision of the Programme Analyst for Demographic Intelligence Analysis and Planning. |
Expected travel: | Occasional travel to programme sites depending on need. |
