QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Texas EC – 4, EC – 6 or Elem 1-8 certification; or other elementary certification with a commitment to obtain the required grade level certification
- ESL Supplemental, Bilingual Supplemental or commitment to obtain this certification
- Minimum five (5) years of teaching experience on elementary campus with demonstrated success
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with the implementation of instructional strategies including sheltered instruction and early literacy that promote and enhance the academic achievement of all learners
- Experience and knowledge of implementation with classroom manipulatives and technology
- Expertise in culturally responsive pedagogy
- Experience with the implementation of professional development
- Experience with providing academic and socio-emotional support to special populations
- Experience with providing academic and socio-emotional support to special populations
- Experience in developing curriculum activities and TEKS-based assessments
- Ability to analyze campus data
- Demonstrated leadership skills at the campus level
- Ability to work with others
- MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Assist teachers in working with at-risk students, LEP students, and other special needs students
- Serve as a resource for classroom teachers with strategies, plans, and materials
- Participate in ongoing staff development and networking meetings
