Under the general guidance of the Chief Education and Chief Child Protection, and having the Chief Field Office in Boa Vista as a second supervisor, the Education and Child Protection Officer will provide overall technical, managerial, and operational leadership to deliver Child Protection and Education results within the context of the humanitarian response, working closely with other team members, local authorities, and partners.
Particularly in relation to education, the Officer will be responsible for: (i) conducting and updating the situation assessment and analysis, (ii) providing technical assistance to municipal and state authorities, service providers and partners (iii) ensuring effective coordination of education partners, (iv) supporting programme progress monitoring and reporting, (v) managerial and operational leadership in delivering programme results within the context of the humanitarian response, (vi) supporting programme design, implementation, monitoring and reporting, (vii) elaborating donors’ proposal and reports; (viii) acting as focal point for the partnership with related Implementing Partners; (ix) technical supervising the education team in the Boa Vista Office; and (ix) technically supporting the education team working in the Venezuelan migration crisis, among others, and (xi) working closely with other team members, local authorities, and partners, ensuring national coordination.
In relation to Child Protection, the Officer will work with the three axis of the ZO Boa Vista, including migration, indigenous affairs and development and will be responsible for:
- conducting and updating the situation assessment and analysis,
- providing technical assistance to municipal and state authorities, service providers and partners
- ensuring effective coordination of child protection partners,
- supporting programme design, implementation, monitoring and reporting,
- elaborating donors’ proposal and reports;
- acting as focal point for the partnership with related Implementing Partners;
- coordinating with PSEA focal points IP activities;
- technical supervising the Child Protection team in the Boa Vista Office; and
- technically supporting the Child Protection team working in the Venezuelan migration crisis, among others,
- promote an action plan integrated with education.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Rights, Education, Psychology, Law, International Relations, Social Work, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Communication, or another relevant field.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in humanitarian or emergency response with focus on education and/or child protection interventions is key.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in articulating with state and municipal governments and civil society organizations is needed.
Skills:
- Solid knowledge of program management is required.
- Ability to facilitate interagency processes is needed
- Experience with UN and International Organization is desirable.
- Experience working with indigenous population is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Database will be an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
