Teaching Assistant, Grade 2 30.42 hours per week (Monday to Friday) fixed term contract
As soon as possible – August 2025
£15,816 – £16,280 (total annual salary)
Penistone St John’s Primary School is looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, caring and flexible person to support and motivate children and to be part of our outstanding school. The post will require the successful candidate to be flexible to work in EYFS/KS1 or KS2 depending on experience and have the ability to support children (1 to 1) with SEN/physical disabilities as well as small group work. Experience of working in EYFS and or with phonics is desirable.
Applicants must have:
- Extensive and recent experience of working in a teaching assistant role
- Relevant qualifications for the post e.g. GCSE (C or above) English and Maths
- The ability to assist the teacher with a range of learning activities and support pupils in their learning, as directed
- A good sense of humour, approachable, flexible and able to work as part of a committed team.
- Knowledge of strategies to support children with additional needs.
