Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) invites applications for the position of program director at the rank of clinical assistant professor to teach in our Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program on the Fort Wayne (IUFW) campus. This is a 1.0 FTE, non-tenure track position. With faculty dedicated to and focused on each of our students’ maximum development and growth, our Fort Wayne program ranks among the best in the nation in student pass rates on clinical, state and national examinations.

The candidate we are seeking will come with a passion for student growth and achievement; dedication to academic and clinical excellence; expertise in didactic instruction; experience in interprofessional education and community collaborations; and a record of strengthening equity and inclusivity. In this position, the candidate selected will:

  • deliver didactic, laboratory, pre-clinical, and clinical instruction to dental hygiene students;
  • maintain our dental hygiene program’s CODA-compliance by 1) managing and developing dental hygiene program goals and objectives consistent with CODA requirements, 2) participating in curriculum revision projects, 3) direct involvement in CODA self-study activities and 4) by utilizing systematic methods of assessment;
  • provide student advising and mentoring;
  • support ongoing identification, development, and strengthening of internal and external collaborative partnerships with the dental hygiene program;
  • support program’s planning and budgeting processes;
  • provide oversight and management of dental hygiene program community outreach programs;
  • and engage in academic scholarship and service commitments.

Basic Qualifications

Must Haves for Interview Consideration

  • DDS or MS
  • Three (3) years of dental hygiene clinical practice experience
  • Have or be immediately eligible for an Indiana unrestricted dental or dental hygiene license
