JOB DESCRIPTION
The Action aims to support the Greek authorities, with the provision of targeted reception support and critical integration services, aiming to a smooth transition to the national integration programme, namely the HELIOS1+ also implemented by IOM. As a result, it is expected that the Action will contribute to the beneficiaries’ smooth and sustainable integration in the country, as well as to enhanced solidarity and fair responsibility sharing among EUMS.
Under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Senior Operations Assistant, the successful candidate will provide support in implementing project activities.
- Keep record of all deliverables which are being completed at field level and ensure the timely submission of the documentation at the coordination unit of the action.
- Maintain records of the NFIs items which shall be kept in storage, identify potential shortages in NFIs and follow up with the coordination unit any additional purchases which need to take place.
- Facilitate beneficiaries’ arrival / first reception process and escort them at the respective accommodation centre. Assist camp management authorities during beneficiaries’ arrival.
- Assist with the distribution of basic goods/NFIs to beneficiaries of the action and notifying the Senior Operations Assistant if further items and distributions are needed.
- Carry out administrative tasks related to the needs of the action by keeping of the expense’s documentation.
- Monitor the documentation which shall be completed for the use of IOM rented vehicles and ensure the submission on an accurate and timely manner of all required documentations.
- Assist the beneficiaries with escorting services to public entities or to other locations linked with the integration of beneficiaries.
- Liaise with RIS management authorities and all concerned site’s actors (eg Ippokratis and ESF+ unit) related to project’s operational objectives.
- Keep record of transportation routes conducted by the subcontracted vendors of IOM and be in a position to provide all required documentations.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
- University degree in Social or Humanitarian Sciences from an accredited academic institution with at least two years of relevant working experience.
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred;
- Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees preferred;
- Previous experience working with children preferred;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment an advantage;
- Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills;
- Computer literacy in standard software applications (MS Office, etc). Certification of computer literacy will be an asset;
- Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage;
- Personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility.
- Fluency in Greek certified working knowledge of English or French (oral and written) is required.
