Job Summary Job Summary Catalyst: Menlo’s Applied Leadership Semester We seek passionate, innovative educators to join as founding faculty members of Catalyst, Menlo’s new Applied Leadership Semester program. This exciting and immersive program empowers juniors to develop leadership skills while tackling complex global challenges through an integrated, experiential, and interdisciplinary curriculum. Throughout our inaugural year, we will focus on case studies related to climate resilience and adaptation, combining rigorous academics with real-world problem-solving in partnership with Bay Area leaders and organizations. Faculty will begin light paid part-time, variable hour work in April 2025 (such as, but not limited to: engage in high level program planning, meet the students and families enrolled, and establish goals for summer curriculum work). We do not anticipate this work requiring faculty to leave their current full-time positions as meetings will be infrequent and scheduled around existing commitments. Full-time responsibilities will begin in Summer 2025, including intensive professional development to ensure a successful program launch. Please review closely sample course descriptions and program overview before applying. English Position We are seeking faculty to teach an upper level English rhetoric course with real world applications. Faculty with experience teaching in IB, AP English Language, and/or interdisciplinary models are particularly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Teach up to 18 students in your subject area per semester. Students may be grouped together or subdivided into smaller groups so as to better differentiate by skill level, particularly in Math. Support the Leadership Seminar by mentoring a small group of students (3-5) in social-emotional skills, self-reflection, and leadership development. Coordinate Leadership Seminar activities, as necessary, with guest speakers and alumni mentors. Co-teach interdiscip Requirements / Qualifications Requirements / Qualifications
