Job description
The Dallas Symphony Association is seeking an experienced Manager of Corporate Giving. The Manager of Corporate Giving will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving to support the DSO’s corporate giving programs. This role will cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of existing corporate donors, valuing approximately $1 million, as well as prospect for new and increased support. The Manager of Corporate Giving will also be responsible for managing, tracking, implementation, and delivery of corporate partner benefits. The Manager of Corporate Giving will proactively anticipate and respond to opportunities to help the Director of Annual Giving achieve stated goals. Attendance at meetings, DSO concerts, fundraising and networking events and other activities is an integral part of this role. The position will also participate in maintaining impeccable accuracy and consistency of information, documentation and communication. The work of the Manager of Corporate Giving will contribute to increased corporate partner engagement and contributions, as well as the success of the Development Department and the institution as a whole. Duties include (but are not limited to): Fundraising & Support
- Secure new, increased and renewed corporate partnerships using appropriate moves management techniques.
- Work to create compelling partnerships that facilitate meaningful connections with partners.
- Compile and format information into documents and presentations to be used in donor, committee and board meetings. Presentation formats include print (internal and external) and Microsoft Word, PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Maintain accurate information in Tessitura, including logging meeting reports, proposals and responses in the database.
Stewardship & Benefit Fulfillment for Partners and Sponsors:
- Assist with the planning, implementation and tracking of Corporate Partner benefits, including year-round benefits and the Institutional Donor Dedicated Concert program. This includes, but is not limited to, fulfillment of concert tickets, names and logo recognition, signage, website and social media recognition, and dedicated concerts.
- Plan and coordinate events associated with a corporate partnership or sponsorship. This includes pre-concert receptions, back-stage tours and stage remarks, meet-and-greets, and other special events.
- Manage processes related to pledges, gifts, and payments, including working with Development Operations on acknowledgements and invoices and compiling interim and final reports, and compiling regular updates for partners.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in corporate giving or a related field. This position requires someone who is a team player and is able to work with the needs of multiple constituencies in order to meet deadlines and business objectives while prioritizing among tasks. The position requires impeccable accuracy and consistency in documentation and communication, as well as high attention to detail and superb organization skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. Attendance at meetings, DSO concerts, fundraising and networking events and other activities is an integral part of this role, so availability for occasional nights and weekends is required.
