Job Description

Mental Fight Club (MFC) is a creative charity that challenges stigma around mental health through dynamic events and community-based arts practice. We are seeking a Creative Facilitation Officer to support the smooth running of our flagship programmes, including The Dragon Caf , Dragon Caf in the City, and Mental Fight Club Presents.

This is a hands-on, people-focused role at the heart of our work, part time between 16.25hrs – 20hrs per week. The officer will act as front of house, welcoming participants, tracking attendance, and helping to create safe, inclusive, and engaging spaces. Working closely with project leads, you will support the full life-cycle of events: preparation, delivery, set-up, facilitation, pack-down, and evaluation. You will coordinate volunteers, liaise with artists and contractors, and ensure safeguarding, accessibility, and health & safety standards are consistently upheld.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing venues, materials, refreshments, and technology for events.

  • Supporting online and in-person sessions, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Assisting with group facilitation, volunteer management, and participant support.

  • Documenting events through attendance records, photography, and feedback.

  • Collecting and collating data to inform service improvement.

  • Upholding MFC’s ethos, safeguarding, and equality policies.

We are looking for a confident and adaptable facilitator with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to manage group dynamics, and a strong commitment to inclusivity. Experience in creative event delivery, community engagement, or participatory arts is desirable. Flexibility to work evenings and occasional bank holidays is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver inspiring creative programmes that promote mental wellbeing and social connection in London communities. Follow link for more details:

Job Requirements

The Creative Facilitation Officer will have experience supporting and facilitating events, ideally in community settings, with the ability to coordinate both in-person and online sessions. You will be confident in event set-up/breakdown, managing amenities and refreshments, and using basic tech for online delivery. A strong awareness of safeguarding, inclusion, and risk management is essential, alongside experience working with people at risk or from marginalised groups. You will bring strong interpersonal skills, be calm under pressure, and able to resolve or escalate issues appropriately. The role requires collaborative team working with staff, trustees, volunteers, and artists, while acting as a positive role model within the organisation. Essential qualities include organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive situations with tact. Availability to work Mondays (including evenings and bank holidays), Wednesdays, and travel across London is required.

Job Responsibilities

As Creative Facilitation Officer, you’ll be at the heart of MFC’s events, helping bring our programmes to life. You’ll welcome participants, support the set-up and running of sessions, and ensure every space is safe, inclusive, and engaging. Working closely with project leads, you’ll coordinate volunteers, liaise with artists, and make sure venues, materials, and tech are ready to go. On the day, you’ll help hold the space, manage group dynamics, and provide front-of-house support. You’ll also capture feedback, track attendance, and document events to inform future planning. This hands-on role suits someone organised, adaptable, and people-focused, with a passion for creativity and community. Flexibility to work Mondays, Wednesdays, and occasional evenings or bank holidays is essential.
