Salary Range: Qualified Actual Salary: £27,215 – £38,619
FTE £28,887 – £40,990
Unqualified Actual Salary: £24,786 – £31,537
FTE £26,308 – £33,474
(Starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience)
The school is opening in 2026 and is based near the Emerson College site near the beautiful Ashdown Forest and the village of Forest Row.
In this role you will be ensuring the pupils of Ashdown Garden School engage in learning and achieve their goals by providing practical, experiential and therapeutic education through careful planning of
the structure, methodology and delivery of the learning experience.
Job Requirements
The key duties of this role will include:
- Plan and deliver engaging Greenwood Work sessions using traditional tools and methods.
- Support pupils to design and create practical, meaningful wooden items.
- Embed functional skills and links to the wider curriculum within craft activities.
- Develop and maintain green woodworking workshop and outdoor learning spaces.
- Use a therapeutic, student-centred approach to build confidence, motivation and self-esteem.
- Assess progress, adapt teaching strategies and reduce barriers to learning.
- Deliver accredited outcomes in line with student pathways where appropriate.
