Job Description
The Tech Trustee will provide strategic guidance and oversight on the Gallery’s digital ambitions. Working closely with the Director, executive team and fellow Trustees, they will advise on opportunities and risks in areas such as:
Digital strategy and innovation
Data and technology infrastructure
Audience engagement through digital channels
Digital content and storytelling
Cybersecurity and digital governance
The role of trustee requires a time commitment of two to three calendar days each month. The Board meets every quarter, including a yearly AGM, and occasional committee meetings. This is a voluntary role – reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
Job Requirements
Significant experience in a senior technology, product, or digital transformation role for example, as a CTO, CIO or Product Leader.
Strong understanding of how digital platforms and data can transform audience engagement and organisational operations.
Collaborative communicator with a passion for photography.
Experience with not-for-profit, arts, or heritageorganisations.
Sound, independent judgement and the confidence to participate in debate about key strategic issues and know when to challenge constructively
Ability to work supportively with other Trustees, advisers and senior colleagues to high ethical and professional standards and in line with legal responsibilities
The capability and people skills to take on an ambassadorial role for the Gallery
A commitment to transformational change, learning, improvement and performance
