Big Time Academy is looking for a brilliant Musical Theatre teacher to join our team, delivering engaging, confidence-building classes for children aged 6-11.

Our classes are structured, high-quality, and child-centred, combining singing, acting, and movement in a way that builds real skills while keeping joy, care, and encouragement at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

You’ll lead weekly Musical Theatre classes designed to help children:

  • Grow in confidence and self-expression
  • Develop vocal, acting, and movement skills
  • Learn focus, teamwork, and stage awareness
  • Feel proud of their progress in a supportive environment

Classes follow a clear structure and sit within our wider performing arts programme, known for its consistency, professionalism, and strong community feel.

Hourly Rate: £25-£30 per hour depending on experience

Potential Hours Available: Thursday afterschool, Saturday and Sunday

We are ideally looking for teachers local to Mill Hill.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in performing arts, with a strong background in drama, singing and movement.
  • Previous teaching experience, particularly with children aged 6 to 11, is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of performing arts techniques and the ability to convey this knowledge effectively to young students.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Passionate about teaching and developing young performers
  • Ability to work well with other teachers

In line with our commitment to safeguarding and maintaining the highest standards of care for children, all successful candidates must already hold, or be willing to obtain (at their own expense due to being freelance)

  • An enhanced DBS check
  • A valid first aid qualification
  • A safeguarding qualification
