Job Summary

Bromley House Library is looking for a Library Services Manager (job share) to work 3 days per week (Monday and Tuesday 9.15am to 5.15pm, Wednesday alternating between 9.15am to 5.15pm and 11.15am to 7.15pm ) and every other Saturday 9.15am to 4.15pm

Job Description

This senior management position is the customer service lead for the organisation, heading up a team of library assistants working across all activities. In addition to ensuring the smooth operation of services and being the main liaison point for most members, visitors and contractors, the role includes overseeing book conservation, managing group visits, volunteer liaison, environmental monitoring, contributing to the process of book selection, planning and collaborating on strategic objectives.

Job Requirements

Experience of managing or leading a team, ideally within the libraries/ heritage/ cultural or related sector, is essential, along with excellent customer service and communication skills, a passion for literature and heritage, a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to remain calm and resourceful in a busy environment.

Bromley House is a Grade II* Listed building with no lift and many stairs, all staff need to have a good level of mobility and fitness.
