Job Description
Production Manager
– Create and maintain the production schedule, ensuring key dates are met.
– Working with the Producer to organise and chair production meetings.
– Working closely with the Director and Producer, and other team members to inform decisions regarding set, costume, lighting and other aspects of a production and ensure these are feasible within the budget and brief – eg, everything fits in a car to move between venues.
– Ensure the set can be safely and practically installed in each venue, planning set transportation.
– Create construction drawings for all scenery elements and organise the build.
– Work with the technical stage manager to plan and execute the get in and get outs for each tour venue, and to create a model for in and outs that can be used in libraries, as much as theatres.
– Procure any additional sound and lighting equipment.
– Line manage the technical stage manager.
– Attend rehearsals, tech sessions, get ins and get outs as required.
– Support in the development of the pack for venues as required.
– Work with the producer and Exec producer to manage the budget, ensuring financial efficiency.
Fee: approx £2,200 based on 11 days at £200 pd (based on an 8hr day).
NB, to start ASAP up until 7th November 2026.
Job Requirements
– Proven project management experience, ideally within the arts, cultural or charitable sectors.
– Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams and deadlines.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
– An understanding of theatre production.
