Job Summary

Seeking a freelance producer for a small‑scale fringe theatre production in St Helens, running for five performances in Autumn/Winter 2026. Part‑time, flexible role supporting pre‑production, scheduling, venue liaison, and delivery of the run.

Job Description

I am seeking a freelance producer to support a small scale fringe theatre production in St Helens, planned for a five performance run in Autumn/Winter 2026. This is a part time, flexible role focused on practical coordination and delivery rather than creative input.

Responsibilities include:

liaising with the venue and confirming dates

coordinating pre production and scheduling

managing rehearsal logistics and basic admin

supporting marketing and ticketing setup

overseeing insurance, contracts, and production documentation

ensuring smooth delivery of the run

accommodating a quiet support animal during some meetings (GP letter available)

All production costs (venue hire, marketing, insurance, tech, etc.) are covered by the project budget. The producer is not expected to subsidise the show. A clear milestone based payment schedule will be agreed on appointment.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in fringe or small scale theatre producing who is organised, calm, and confident managing logistics independently.

Job Requirements

Experience producing fringe or small scale theatre

Strong organisational and scheduling skills

Ability to manage logistics independently and communicate clearly

Confidence liaising with venues and coordinating pre production tasks

Familiarity with basic marketing and ticketing processes

Ability to manage budgets and production documentation

Reliable, calm, and able to work to agreed milestones

Comfortable with a quiet support animal present during occasional meetings
