Job Summary

We are looking for 3 actors for a 2 week R&D of a new play AFTERMATH by Josie White. We are specifically looking for actors who are from and have a base in East Midlands.

Job Description

Synopsis of play:
When Reality TV star and Pop-Culture icon, Lacey Wilde, takes her own life following a whistle-blowing interview, the nation spirals into chaos. But amidst the noise, barricaded in the star’s Nottingham home, her lifelong friends Liv, Kay and Adei are left with a far more uncomfortable question: how well did they really know her? As TikTok sleuths pick Lacey’s life apart in search of answers, the trio prepare for her funeral, but what begins as collective grief, soon ruptures into paranoia, when the public’s wrath shifts on to them and buried secrets start to unravel.

Dates (subject to change):
Week one: Monday 5th October – Friday 9th October 2026
Week two: Monday 12th October – Friday 16th October 2026
Sharings: Thursday 15th October at CURVE Theatre, Friday 16th October at Attenborough Arts Centre and Monday 2nd November at Omnibus Theatre.

Fee: £1,412 (£631 per week for 2 weeks, plus sharing in London £150)

All expenses for accommodation and travel outside of the East Midlands will be covered.

The R&D will be directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair, whose directorial work includes, #Hashtag Lightie (Lynette Lynton), Bi-Topia (Sam Danson) and My Dad’s Gap Year (Tom Wright). Jas Nisic (Gwenda’s Garage, KENREX) will be producing and the project is supported by Derby Theatre, CURVE theatre, New Perspectives and Arts Council England.

We are casting for the following roles:
Liv (Olivia) Okono-McKay – Female (She/Her), White, 29, Nottingham accent.

Kay Gabriel – Non Binary (She/They or They/Them), Mixed-Race, 29, Nottingham accent (please read character description)

Adei Okono – Female (She/Her), Black British, 29, Nottingham accent.
