EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:Santa Rosa Junior College is currently accepting applications to establish a pool for part-time associate faculty assignments. Associate assignments are temporary, part-time or on-call. This job posting is not for a specific assignment or for a full-time faculty position, but rather to establish a pool of candidates who may be considered for part-time faculty assignments.We are seeking equity-minded faculty who are committed to educating our diverse student population. Essential Functions

SELECTION PROCESS:Applications are accepted for associate faculty pools on a continuous basis. If the department has an immediate need to add candidates to their pool, they will review applications. If the department does not have an immediate need to add candidates to their pool, applications remain in the queue for consideration until the need arises or for up to one year.
If selected for interview, candidates will be invited to interview with a Screening and Interviewing Committee. The Committee may include representatives consisting of Faculty, Administrators, and Classified Professionals. Students may also participate in the committee selection process as determined by the Screening and Interviewing Committee. For candidates who are recommended for the pool, references will be checked at any point beyond the committee interview. If selected for the pool, candidates remain in the pool for four years.
Santa Rosa Junior College does not reimburse candidates for expenses related to associate faculty interviews. Requests for remote interviews or other accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:Our facilities in the Race Building include classrooms with state-of-the-art computer and presentation equipment, a computer laboratory and Learning Resource Center, and a modern skill development laboratory. Clinical experiences take place in a variety of facilities and agencies throughout the county.

Required for Dental Assisting (Laboratory, Clinical and Didactic):Candidates must meet minimum qualifications in categories A or B AND C, D and E:A. Graduation from an American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation dental assisting program AND a Bachelor’s degree * AND 2 years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience as a registered dental assistant; ORB. The equivalent. If you do not possess the minimum qualifications, exactly as listed above, you must file for equivalency. If claiming equivalency, applicants are responsible for documenting all course work, degree programs and related professional experience at the time of application; ANDC. Current licensure in California as a registered dental assistant *; ANDD. Clinical competency and current knowledge in the specific subjects they are teaching and educational theory and methodology consistent with their teaching assignment *; ANDE. Requires a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Graduation from an American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation dental hygiene program AND a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene or related major AND 2 years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience as a registered dental hygienist; ORB. Graduation from an American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation School of Dentistry AND two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience as a dentist; ORC. The equivalent. If you do not possess the minimum qualifications, exactly as listed above, you must file for equivalency. If claiming equivalency, applicants are responsible for documenting all course work, degree programs and related professional experience at the time of application; ANDD. Current licensure in California as a registered dental hygienist, a registered dental hygienist in alternative practice, or a dentist (as appropriate) ANDE. Clinical competency in all dental hygiene procedures; ANDF. Current clinical competency and knowledge of the specific subjects taught in the clinic; AND Documented background in educational methodology consistent with the teaching assignment;G. Requires a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.*Bachelor’s degree or 120 semester units, all semester or equivalent units must be earned from a regionally accredited postsecondary educational institution. All coursework taken must minimally satisfy general education requirement for an Associate’s degree at Santa Rosa Junior College.
