POSITION:

Teaching Assistant Professor, TL055, Full-Time: 100%, Instructional Academic Staff, Ongoing/Renewable, Academic (9-month) appointment, one vacancy

This position is eligible for hybrid work consideration (on-campus instruction will be required). Currently eligibility requires residency in one of the following states: Wisconsin or Minnesota upon hire.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The School of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Superior invites applications for the position of non-tenure-track Teaching Assistant Professor of Business Law beginning in August 2025. The school is seeking an individual who will provide excellent undergraduate instruction, incorporate current techniques in teaching and research, and work collaboratively, including across disciplines, to strengthen the school¿s business programs.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Teach 12 credit hours each semester, typically a 4/4 course load including introductory, intermediate, and advanced level undergraduate courses.
  • Teach courses in Business Law, Management and, depending on qualifications, other areas from the School of Business and Economics.
  • Advise students in the school¿s major, minor, and certificate programs.
  • Provide service to the University and community through, but not limited to, participation in departmental and university committees as appropriate.

Other Duties:

  • Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • J.D. with a Master¿s degree from an accredited university or J.D. with a Bachelor¿s degree in Business from an accredited university and five years professional experience.

This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • M.B.A. or Master¿s degree in business-related discipline.
  • Experience teaching college courses.
  • Willingness and ability to teach in multiple areas of business is highly desired.
  • Evidence of potential teaching effectiveness as a course instructor or teaching assistant and the desire for excellence in teaching.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

SALARY & BENEFITS: 

Salary range for this position is: $65,000 – $75,000 annually. Specific benefit information can be found here. A snapshot of benefits offered for this position include:
