Job Description
The Academic Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of academic programs. This role involves both direct teaching (40%) and academic coordination/support (60%). The ideal candidate should possess strong teaching abilities, organizational skills, and a passion for academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching Responsibilities (40%)
- Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the institution’s curriculum and learning objectives.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment methods to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Stay updated on new teaching methodologies and educational trends.
Teaching Assistance & Academic Coordination (60%)
- Support teachers with lesson planning, material development, and classroom management strategies.
- Conduct observations and provide feedback to educators to improve instructional effectiveness.
- Assist in curriculum development, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Organize and lead teacher training workshops or professional development sessions.
- Coordinate scheduling, class assignments, and faculty meetings.
- Act as a liaison between faculty, students, and administration to address academic concerns.
- Support the implementation of assessment and evaluation processes.
- Maintain academic records and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
Work Environment:
- A combination of classroom teaching and administrative tasks.
- Interaction with teachers, students, and academic leadership teams.
- Occasional participation in meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching and academic coordination.
- Strong understanding of curriculum design and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to mentor and support teaching staff.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
- Experience in teacher training or professional development.
- Familiarity with student assessment tools and data analysis.
