The Department of Medicine, in the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, and Alberta Health Services Calgary zone invites applications for a Tenure Track (contingent) appointment in academic hematology and basic/translational science research, with a particular focus in the area of multiple myeloma at the Assistant Professor level.

Qualifications required include a MD, certification in Internal Medicine and Hematology, eligibility for regular licensure in the Province of Alberta, and sub-specialty training in Malignant Hematology. An advanced research degree such as a PhD degree or equivalent research training and experience is also required. The successful candidate will be involved in basic/translational science research in the area of multiple myeloma and would participate in teaching and supervision at the University of Calgary in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate clinical and academic programs. The position will have 75% protected time for research. Duties will include providing clinical care to patients as part of their membership within the Section/Division of Hematology.

Applicants must present evidence of early success as a clinician researcher, as demonstrated through early academic productivity in terms of presentations, publications, awards and grant funding. Evidence of successful teaching and/or graduate supervision would be an asset. Evidence of collaborations with other researchers and academic engagement in professional and other communities will be assessed.
