Account Manager Food & Pharma “South” (Wallonia & Brussels)

For our Food & Pharma market, we are looking for an Account Manager where the portfolio is mixed between large Food and Pharma customers located in Brussels/Brabant-Wallon/Hainaut.

In this role, you are the driving force when it comes to manage and serve and expand your customer portfolio (mainly big accounts), that you want to bind to Air Liquide for the long term. By using your strong communication skills you will build your professional network (internal and external), whereby the split between new business and relationship management is approximately 30/70.

As a true networker, you promote Air Liquide where possible and ensure that all customer-specific wishes are known throughout the entire organization. Because of your knowledge of the region and the market, you know how to map out potential opportunities quickly and at an early stage and, where necessary, to link up with the internal organization.

You are a spider in the web between the specific needs of the customer and the internal organization (SHEQ, Marketing, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, Assets, CSC departments). Guiding the customers needs towards the right experts within Air Liquide will give you the opportunity to enlarge your own knowledge and support you in convincing the customer. The team you will work in, consists of passionate sales professionals who are there for each other in every situation and help each other where possible.

During an “on the job” training period you will work together with the Food & Pharma Sales team to get to know the customers, gas applications, services and our internal organization.

Specific training will be provided linked to our business as ‘our Applications & Solutions’, our ‘Products’, ‘Procedures’ and ‘Equipment’.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Qualifying customer needs and transforming them into Opportunities to establish commercial proposals.
  • Develop and sustain solid relationships with customers to encourage repetitive business
  • Act as key account manager for your customer portfolio of medium & large Food & Pharma Accounts.
  • Performs basic calculations upto complex opportunities (project management) to provide prospects and customers with accurate solutions, prices and quotes.
  • Take initiative by informing customers of new products (innovations) or services and price changes(portfolio management)
  • Logging all customer interactions and sales activities as well updating lead/account information in CRM

Are you a MATCH?

  • You have followed an education linked to bio/science/Engineering/Marketing/food processing or others (minimum bachelor’s level; master is a plus) and own a strong drive to achieve and surpass sales objectives;
  • You have at least 3 years work experience in a commercial role; Knowledge of the industrial market (such as Pharma, Food & R&D related activities) is a plus;
  • You are strong independently as well as in a team and you are a real account manager serving your customer portfolio and partly working as a sales hunter;
  • You are fluent in French and in English, Dutch would be a strong plus.
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements to translate them towards Air Liquide solutions;
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM and Google (docs, spreadsheets) is a strong plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong listening and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • You work systematically and purposefully (analysis – planning – implementation – follow-up and adjustment) and you communicate proactively and transparently with your manager.
  • You have strong listening skills to understand the customer’s need and are able to translate it into a competitive solution serving your customer satisfaction; You are familiar with social selling;
