Adjunct Faculty (Ceramics)

St. Edward’s University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a pool of qualified applicants for future, part-time Adjunct Faculty appointments in Studio Arts: Ceramics in the Department of Visual Studies, beginning Fall 2024. St. Edward’s is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission to educate the hearts and minds of a diverse student body that is deeply committed to social justice.

The successful candidate may teach up to nine (9) semester credit hours within the required discipline at on-campus sites as dictated by student demand, hold office hours, and assist students as needed. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus.

For consideration, candidate must have:

• Master’s degree in Studio Arts.
• Previous teaching applied studio art at the collegiate level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience teaching all levels of wheel throwing and hand-building ceramics.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

• Ability to teach undergraduate college ceramic students applied lessons at all levels.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with the general public.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work under stress and with pressing timelines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Other information:

• The above job duties may not be performed in every Adjunct Faculty position and might not include all related duties that may be performed.
• Additional duties may be assigned for studio arts classes.
• Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis.
• These temporary appointments are for the Fall 2024 semester
• Other duties as assigned
