Org. Setting and Reporting
This position located within the Medial Section of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Bentiu. The incumbent will report to the Medical Officer.
Responsibilities
Within limits of delegated authority, the Ambulance Driver will be responsible for the following duties: • Performs day to day duties at the clinic • Be ready/available at any time for any medical emergency that involves moving UNMISS staff and any other authorized person by ambulance car to the indicated point of transfer, • Carry patient from the scene of accident to UNMISS Level 1 clinic or any other authorized place. • Carry the Field Medical Officer during COE inspections and be part of escorting team for any UNMISS VIP visitors’. • Take care of Medical Section Vehicles • Perform the daily inspection of the ambulance, medical vehicles and any other equipment on board. • Make a regular check of the ambulance when starting and ending duty. • Check fueling of the ambulance for any emergency (refueling both tanks) • Ensure clearness and security of the ambulance and all equipment on board. • Responsible for taking the vehicle to the workshop and report any incident of breakdown or damage. • Perform other duties assigned by Doctor in charge UNOE clinic

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification
Valid driver’s license is required Driver training is desirable
Work Experience
The minimum year of relevant experience is reduced to zero for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher, a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in the provision of driver services is required. Experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include a technical test which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Special Notice
This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules.
