PA or APRN, Pediatric Craniofacial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Full Time, Rotating, Dell
Children’s Medical Center, Austin, TX
The Pediatric Craniofacial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Service at Dell Children’s Medical
Center in Austin, Texas is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or
Physician Assistant) to join their team. Dell Children’s is the only free-standing children’s
hospital and a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center serving 47 counties in Central Texas. The
yearly ED volume for the medical center exceeds 80, 000 visits per year. This is fast paced and
always interesting.
The APRN/PA will join a well established service that includes board certified pediatric craniofacial
and reconstructive plastic surgeons, hand surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, an
orthodontist, pediatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, speech
therapy and a social worker.
Responsibilities:
- The APRN/PA is expected to perform duties and responsibilities with a significant amount of autonomy and self-direction.
- The patient care environment will be in an inpatient setting.
- We strongly encourage acute care certification for pediatric nurse practitioners

Requirements
Nurse Practitioner Required Credential(s):
- Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
Preferred Credential(s):
- Acute Care Certification – Strongly encouraged to apply if you have your Acute Care Certification
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Education:
- Master’s degree of Nursing required
Physician Assistant Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90days) of hire date or job transfer date
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board.
- Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Preferred Credential(s):
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
- Master’s degree preferred
Work Experience:
- 2 plus years of pediatric experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred
- 2 plus years of pediatric plastic surgery experience preferred
